Q: Does Landmark Tree Care charge a fee to come out to my house and look at possible work?
A: No. In fact, Give us a call and a Certified Arborist will schedule a time that fits in your schedule to meet you for free. Not only will you get a proposal for work that meets YOUR goals but you will get a free evaluation of your individual situation.
Q. Do you trim trees and shrubs?
A. Yes. Arboriculture is an industry that includes a variety of tasks that incorporates tree trimming and complex tree removals to trimming and shaping any size shrub.
Q. Will you top my tree to keep it under control?
A. Unfortunately, through years of research and trials, topping has been found to do more harm than good. Topping encourages vigorous sucker growth that is mistaken for a healthy response. But in reality, what grows back grows twice as fast and is half as strong (if your lucky). Rot and decay is almost always found at the site of the topping cuts.
However, years of making topping cuts have been made common practice on certain tree species such as the Bradford Pear. We still don't recommend topping these trees but, as they say, the customer is always right.
Q. Is Landmark Tree Care Properly insured?
A. Yes. In fact, every contractor you will ever hire needs to have, not only general liability insurance, but also needs to carry a commercial auto policy. Also, if there are ANY employees on site your contractor must also have worker's compensation insurance specifically for the type of job being done. If you are having tree work performed on your property then you, the client need to verify that the policy clearly states "tree removal and/or trimming". If there are any questions about the policy contact the provider not the contractor! This protects you, the home owner, against any lawsuits from an improperly covered employee. Yes, it's not just the business owner's responsibility!
Although Landmark Tree Care has never had a serious accident we still carry the proper insurance to protect everyone involved.
Current insurance policies should come from the carrier NOT the contractor. Your contractor should have no problem with contacting their provider and having the information sent to you. All you have to supply is you name, address and a good email.
